Koseki Iizuka was the nephew of Iizuka Rōkansai, who was known as the 'God of Baskets.' Due to his exceptional skill, Kōseki was highly regarded as a promising bamboo artist. He tragically passed away during World War II. This piece is made from hōbichiku (phoenix-tail bamboo), a rare and precious type of smoked bamboo. Tightly woven with precision, this basket leaves a view of the richly lacquered bamboo vase in the center. A unique and rare masterpiece to showcase your flower arrangement.
