Mitsuru Koga
Based in the sea-side city of Kanagawa, artist Mitsuru Koga (b. 1980) observes and instills curiosity and wonder into seemingly mundane materials to give his viewer a new sense of awareness. Through all of his imaginative works Koga expresses the relationship between the natural world and humanity, capturing the strong spirit of nature hidden in our built environments. From Koga's subtle seastone vases to his austere wire trees to his flatworks, these various works all reflect the beauty of Koga's fine craftsmanship as well as his ability to make the ordinary quietly extraordinary.
