Vintage Bamboo Flower Basket - Hanakago 7

For four generations the Chiku’unsai family has continued the tradition of bamboo basket weaving. Located in Sakai, Osaka, the second-generation Chiku’unsai Tanabe created this bamboo basket with finely woven fibers. An excellent representation of his works, this basket reveals a dark red lacquered bamboo vase in the center. While it is fully functional for flower arrangements, signs of wear and aging are present. This has been considered and is reflected in the price. Although the original box (tomobako) exists, due to transportation reasons, only the basket is being provided.
