Sori Yanagi Strainers and Bowls
Sori Yanagi's stainless steel bowls are lightweight and versatile in the kitchen for all your mixing, stirring needs.
Sori Yanagi's durable stainless steel strainers are deliberately punch pressed so that they won't unravel or come apart with time.
Both bowls and strainers are designed to work together and nest perfectly for easy storage as well as added functionality. Strainers, when nested with their bowl counterpart, leaves just enough space in-between them for liquids to drain safely inside the bowl.
All of the the strainers and bowls are uniform in style and shape, except for the large stainless steel bowl with its more rounded body. Yanagi imagined this large bowl to be the perfect size for stirring batter so he made the bowl easier to cradle in your arm as you stirred. These types of small consideration is what makes Yanagi a truly unique and innovative designer.
Pro tip: Sori Yanagi's strainers fit seamlessly with the collection's line of stainless steel pots so your pots can double as steamers. This option of adding a strainer to your pots for increased functionality is the epitome of Yanagi's design ethos.

Sori Yanagi's kitchen product series began with an extensive line of cutlery in 1974, and has since expanded to include pots, pans, kettles, colanders, bowls, knives, utensils and cast iron grills. His design concept nurtures simplicity and the seeking out of small ideas that affect in big ways.
Often listed amongst legendary masters of industrial design like Charles and Ray Eames and Arnie Jacobsen, Yanagi is considered to be one of Japan's most influential product designers and leader of the Industrial post-war design movement in Japan. Credited as the father of Japanese modern design, Yanagi's bent plywood stool, the "BUTTERFLY STOOL", which was designed in 1956, is currently part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NY.
All Sori Yanagi stainless steel pieces are made in Niigata, Japan.
