Hand-carved in Kyoto, these shapely chopsticks are distinctive in appearance and light to the touch. Kosuga utilizes the full potential of bamboo as a natural material in these chopsticks - the light, soft texture and intricate markings are sure to elevate your dining table. Available in two styles - Shiratake (a simplistic approach to bamboo's warm, smooth tone) or Zumendake (carved to highlight irregular and mesmerizing patterns within bamboo wood).
Each chopstick is made from natural bamboo strips and features unique variations. The chopsticks you receive are not necessarily the chopsticks pictured.
Since its establishment in 1890, the Kohchosai Kosuga company has been dedicated to exploring the qualities of bamboo at their facilities. Kohchosai Kosuga specialized in fine bamboo arts and crafts and produces a wide range of products, such as flower baskets, tableware, bags, and lighting. The craftspeople at Kosuga are true innovators of the medium - shepherding bamboo into contemporary culture that extends well beyond Japan while using traditional techniques passed down through 5 generations.
