History:
One of Japan’s newest breweries, Kamikawa Taisetsu, began its first brewing season in Kamikawa, Hokkaido, in 2017. While new breweries in Japan are few and far between, Kamikawa Taisetsu continues to reinvent the perception of sake with a state-of-the-art small production facility aimed at revitalizing the town of Kamikawa and bolstering the reputation of Hokkaido-made sake. Under the tutelage of master brewer Shinji Kawabata, their sake utilizes Hokkaido-grown rice and fresh mountain water and is as ambitious as their dedication to cultivating and educating all Hokkaido-made sake.
