This paper bag–style shopping bag from the PAPER CRAFT series is made from specially treated pigskin designed to recall the look and texture of paper. Each piece of leather is carefully hand-crinkled by skilled craftsmen, creating a lightweight yet durable surface with subtle irregularity, much like washi. Because the process is entirely manual, every bag is unique.
At first, the leather has a dry, paper-like feel. With use, it develops a deeper sheen and a softer hand, gradually revealing its leather character. The twisted handle is formed from the same leather as the body and reinforced with an internal core to ensure strength and durability, even when carrying heavier loads.
A wide gusset allows the bag to comfortably hold A4-sized documents, while three interior pockets provide straightforward organization for daily essentials. The design translates material experimentation into a practical object for everyday use.

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee. Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
