Hasami Porcelain's newest edition is the deep round bowl, made from a porcelain clay mixture and is stackable its own kind. Perfect for holding soups, ramen, rice donburis, and much more.
Taku Shinomoto lives in Venice Beach, California but originally moved to the United States from Tokyo, Japan where he worked as a furniture designer for a Japanese design company called Idee. Since then he has designed Hasami Porcelain, a brass line called S/N, as well as other products in Japan. Currently, he continues to design furniture in Los Angeles - most recently couches, side tables, book cases and dining table sets.Variation:
Due to the natural material, you will see variations in color and texture, as well as lines, dots, bubbles and stain like markings in the clay. Difference in color and texture among pieces is not considered second quality, nor is it considered defective or avoidable amongst the Hasami craftsmen community. It is a prized sign of beauty and the one-of-a-kind character and nature within the line.
