Daiichi Raka Boots
These unique rubber boots were designed by Daiichi Rubber with comfort, style, and durability in mind. Each aspect of the boot is designed with extreme care and consideration. The outer sole has a ripple design for a deep notch and grip. This allows the boot to be flexible and bendible, while still maintaining a firm grip on even the most slippery of surfaces. The “pull on” design of the boots is inspired by American agriculture, and the “pull strap” helps the user pull on or off the boots. Perhaps most uniquely of all, these boots were manufactured with “direct vulcanization”. This vulcanization method completely seals the boot, ensuring that your feet remain warm and dry. Finally, these boots can be folded for easy storage during dryer months!
These boots are unisex, and available in sizes 6-11. The color of the boots will change over time with use, a beautiful process that is made possible by the direct vulcanization.
Daiichi Rubber has been manufacturing rubber boots in Ortaru, Hokkaido since May 1935. Before the war, there were 50 rubber footware manufacturers in Hokkaido. Today, Daiichi Rubber is the only one left. It is the only factory in Japan that can manufacture rubber boots by the vulcanized manufacturing method. Each pair is made with skilled manual work.
These boots run big (between a half size and whole size large). We recommend you take this into consideration with your purchase, and plan to wear thick socks with these boots! Available in a Men’s 6/Women’s 7 to a Men’s 10/Women’s 11.
