Description:
Handmade in Gifu, Japan for over 90 years, this Japanese washi paper lamp shade omits a warm, ambient light that is perfect for table top use or as a small floor lamp. Made with traditional washi paper production techniques using bamboo ribbing over a steel armature, this lamp turns on and off with a corded switch. The organic shape and simplicity of the design allows this lamp to blend in with many different interiors to provide a soothing glow.

History:
Designed by prolific and world renowned designer, Shigeru Uchida. His major works include a series of boutiques for Yohji Yamamoto, the Hotel Il Palazzo in Fukuoka, the Kobe Fashion Museum, the tea rooms 'Ji-an, San, Gyo-an,' the Mojiko Hotel, AVIAMO series for Fujitsu General, the Oriental Hotel Hiroshima, and the Kobe Fashion Museum. Currently, his designs are held in the permanent collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, as well as the Conran Foundation and others. Shigeru Uchida passed away in 2016.

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.
