History:Saegusa Sotaro (1911–2006) was a Japanese sculptor known for his expressive bronze work, particularly animal and zodiac forms. A graduate of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, he exhibited widely and later taught at Nagoya University of the Arts. His work is recognized for reducing natural forms to simple, sculptural shapes.
