Lemnos Copper Desk Clock WR11-05
Japanese clock manufacturers, Lemnos Clocks, in commemoration of the 100th birthday of famous Japanese industrial designer Riki Watanabe, manufactured one of his designs with the designer's favorite metal: copper. The pure copper frames bring out the simplicity and beauty of this clock, and will patina over time, so the clock will show the passing of time in more ways than one.
Copper metal may show variation, and will change darken and spot over time as it ages. This is a natural characteristic of the metal and considered beautiful.
Riki Watanabe (1911-2013) was a pioneer of modern Japanese design. Riki helped establish the Japan Industrial Designers’ Association and received many awards including the Milan Triennale Exhibition Gold Award, the Mainichi Design Award, and the Japanese Medal of Honor with purple ribbon awarded by the Government of Japan during his 102 years of life. Today, Riki is known for many of his award winning designs including furniture, tableware, clocks and even designed the interior of hotels. His series of wall clocks and desk clocks are some of the most frequently reproduced in the world today.

This product's frame is made from pure copper. The copper will discolor and change over time. Do not wash with any chemical agents. Dust and wipe with a dry cloth as needed. Oil from hands and moisture from the air will hasten the discoloration.
