History:
Bunka Fashion College graduate Komori Keijiro founded Comoli in 2011. Taking climate, culture, and the modest sensibility of the Japanese people into consideration, Comoli is Western-style clothing made to suit the Japanese spirit. Komori cites his travels abroad as an influence and designs clothing that can transition between diverse landscapes without showing off or standing out. For this reason, fabrics are chosen according to their weight, texture, and dynamic range of use, lending each garment a sense of ease and refinement even when wrinkled from a suitcase.
The core palette of black and navy is inspired by stage technicians who work behind the scenes and blend into the background. The colors are specific yet subtle; shades of black and navy shift in the light, appearing more blue or red in different weather conditions.
Above all else, Komori considers the most important aspect of design 'the feeling of air between the person wearing the clothes and the clothing itself.' Informed by a keen understanding of the human figure, Comoli garments are relaxed, mutable, and comfortably envelop the body without restriction.
