Black Barc 'Tentou' Necklace
This pendant necklace features a red garnet set inside the wings of a ladybug and two little diamonds as its eyes. The ladybug's body is made of a combination of 18k yellow gold and sterling silver using mokumegane, a traditional Japanese technique of mixing metals to produce a ‘wood grain’ alloy, and the wings open and close together.

History:
Mizuki Tsurutaka founded Black Barc in Los Angeles in 2011. Rather than relying on molds, Tsurutaka handcrafts all her work using traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques and cites nature as the primary inspiration behind her designs. As a result, Black Barc pieces feel timeless, quietly evoking organic, elemental forms found in our surrounding environment. Based in Torrance, Tsurutaka shares her studio with her husband, Yusuke Muramatsu, designer of Prospective Flow.
