Mizuki Tsurutaka founded Black Barc in Los Angeles in 2011. Rather than relying on molds, Tsurutaka handcrafts all her work using traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques and cites nature as the primary inspiration behind her designs. As a result, Black Barc pieces feel timeless, quietly evoking organic, elemental forms found in our surrounding environment. Based in Torrance, Tsurutaka shares her studio with her husband, Yusuke Muramatsu, designer of Prospective Flow.
This ring features a crescent moon made from aquamarine stone set inside 18k yellow gold. The back reveals the other side of the aquamarine in a multi-pronged setting. Aquamarine is thought to bring soothing, encourage trust and letting go.
