Black Barc 'Kanabun' Necklace
Inspired by nature, this pendant necklace features a blue sapphire set inside the wings of a drone, or june, beetle, with two rubies accenting the tips of its wings. The beetle’s body is made of 18k yellow gold and sterling silver with wings that open and close together. Called kanabun in Japan, the drone beetle is known for its emerald green and bronze wings. Yellow tourmaline contributes to self awareness and reflection, and encourages spiritual growth.
Chain length: Adjustable from 20'' to 21''
Rather than relying on molds, Mizuki Tsurutaka, the designer behind Black Barc, handcrafts all of her work using traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques. Tsurutaka is based in Los Angeles. She shares her studio with her husband Yusuke Muramatsu, designer of Prospective Flow.
