Description:
S/N’s brass trivet protects kitchen countertops and tables from heat damage with two simple lines intersecting at a right angle. The X they create resembles the symbols for both addition and multiplication, a nod to the elegance of geometry and mathematics. (SN008)

Each brass piece is handmade so there may be slight variation. Brass will patina over time, so its appearance and texture will change with use.

History:
A collaborative line designed by Tortoise owner, Taku Shinomoto, and handmade by the master craftspeople behind Nousaku Works, S/N is an expression of understated luxury through traditional craft. S/N products are created in Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, which has a history of metal casting that dates back to the 17th century. Utilizing casting techniques handed down from generation to generation, Nousaku brings a fresh take to an age-old craft. The company was established in 1916 as a producer of Buddhist altar equipment, tea utensils and flower vases. However, in recent years, the company has turned its focus to tableware, interior goods, and lighting fixtures that complement a contemporary lifestyle.

Care Instructions:
Brass will naturally patina over time. Oil and air will naturally darken this piece and make it shinier. This is part of its natural beauty. Do not use chemicals to clean. If exposed to water or moisture for long periods of time, it may cause the metal to change color more quickly or spot.

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
