Ippodo Tea Bag Set

$15.00 Sale Save

Description:
A great introduction to Japanese green teas, this assorted box contains 12 one-cup tea bags of Gyokuro, Hojicha, and Sencha.

Sencha offers a balanced flavor profile of umami, sweetness, bitterness, astringency, and green notes. The most common tea variety drank in Japan, this classic tea is great for any occasion.

Gyokuro is a hearty and sweeter green tea than Sencha. Contains significant amounts of caffeine and is suitable for slow sipping and savoring. Gyokuro involves a more intensive cultivation process in which the tea leaves are grown under the shade to bring out more complexity and deeper flavors.

Hojicha is a very aromatic, light-bodied tea made from roasted tea leaves. A popular evening tea due to its low caffeine content, it pairs well with sweets or meals.
