Description:
This stainless steel butter beater is part of the Sori Yanagi Cooking Utensils line. This series of ergonomic tools won the Good Design Award in 1998. The curve of the handle provides a strong grip, and the extra thin tip allows for easy flexing to pick up delicate food. Like many of Yanagi’s designs, this piece has a very specific function (beating butter) but can also be used in a variety of other ways, depending on the user’s preference. For example, use this tool to beat eggs, flip fish, burgers, or pancakes. Display the sleek, functional form on your wall by hanging the butter beater from the hole in its handle when not in use.

History:
Often listed amongst legendary masters of industrial design like Charles & Ray Eames and Arnie Jacobsen, Yanagi is considered to be one of Japan's most influential product designers and a leader of the industrial post-war design movement in Japan. Credited as the father of Japanese modern design, Yanagi's bent plywood stool, the "BUTTERFLY STOOL", which was designed in 1956, is currently part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NY.  All Sori Yanagi stainless steel pieces are made in Niigata, Japan.
