Ceramic Japan Tk Teapot
Designed by Tatsumi Kato, these tea pots have both a traditional and modern feel. Kato stays true to the essential Japanese tea pot form, while adding his signature of smooth, even glaze and clean lines. Complete with bamboo handle and copper fasteners.
Available in black or white. Ceramic is a natural material that will patina over time. This patina may appear as discoloration and darkening from food contact, or it may also appear as ceramic crazing, which are small cracks that start to develop over time from hot liquids.
Ceramic Japan has been manufacturing ceramic pieces in Seto, Japan since 1973. Known for collaborating with top level artists and designers, Ceramic Japan pairs high artistic quality with traditional ceramic techniques. Tatsumi Kato was the first winner of the Japan Craft Award, and has had his work exhibited in museums throughout Japan. He studied at the Denmark National University of Arts, and established the Japan Craft Design Association in 1960.
