Tea Pot/Kyu-su by Yumiko Iihoshi
Handmade, dark grey ceramic teapots by Yumiko Iihoshi. The base, lid, handle, and spout are all formed on the wheel and then put together for the classic one-handle teapot, ideal for serving a single cup at a time. This particular Kyu-su tea pot is a collaborative work with Nankei Ceramics - long time manufacturers of Banko-yaki tea pots. Adapted and designed for the modern kitchen, the tea pot is unglazed so it does not impart any scent to your tea, allowing you to enjoy the true authentic fragrance of your teas. The matte grey finish with a simple, angular design makes this a must have item for any tea lover and design minimalist.
Due to its handmade nature, there may be variation in tone, color, size and texture. These variations are signs of beauty.
Trained in Kyoto and now based in Tokyo, Yumiko Iihoshi created her line of fine porcelain with designs that tread the fine line of "handcrafted mass manufacturing" by incorporating the artisanal handcraft nature of ceramic in classic, elegant designs Craftsmen and potteries all across Japan participate in the manual process of creating Yumiko Iihoshi designs.
