Organically cultivated in the celebrated fields of Uji, where green tea is carefully grown under shaded netting. This 100% organically grown matcha is harvested at the peak time to preserve the distinct and fresh characteristics. To further maintain optimal quality a slow stone grinding technique is used. This ensures that the delicate tea leaves do not oxidize. The perfect matcha for tea ceremonies or for anyone who appreciates a top quality matcha experience.

History:
When green tea was originally introduced to Japan, Uji was selected as the perfect place for tea planting thanks to its proximity to the former capitals of Kyoto and Nara. By the latter half of the 16th century, a new cultivation method for growing green tea leaves was created here. This innovation produced green tea with vivid leaves and a strong flavor. The excellent soil and topography are key factors that mark Uji as an ideal location for green tea/matcha production.
Care Instructions:
Store in a cool, dark place in an airtight container. For optimal flavor, consume within six months of opening.

Brewing Instructions:
Scoop 1 teaspoon of sifted matcha into a wide rimmed tea bowl. Add 2 oz of hot water (176°F) and whisk vigorously for 15 seconds in an "M" shape against the side of the bowl. Drink immediately.
