

Kyusu Tokoname Teapot
Description:
These Tokoname tea pots come in two different colors (red/orange and charcoal). These pots come with its own stainless steel mesh strainer built inside to prevent loose tea leaves from pouring out. Tokoname clay is high in iron content and after firing produces a red-orange color known as shudei.
Variation:
There may be slight variation. The use of the fine clay unique to the Tokoname area results in a very refined appearance, and allows for many unusual and intricate designs to be carved into the tea pot.
History:
"Tokoname-yaki" is one of the six ancient kiln areas of Japan and is most famous for "kyusu" side handled tea pots which have been produced since the Muromachi period (1338-1573).

Care Instructions:
Hand wash using a soft sponge.
Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee. Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
