Azumaya Tea Pot
$150.00
Description:
This teapot's deliberately unglazed matte surface helps preserve that natural, pure flavor of the tea you brew inside. The superfine, perforated ceramic tea strainer inside also enhances the natural flavor of your loose leaf tea, and the design of this Azuymaya teapot is better at heat retention than other porcelain teapots so your tea stays warmer longer. The elegant placement of the handle on the back of the teapot also allows this teapot to be enjoyed by both left and right-handed people.
Variation:
Due to its handmade quality, and use of natural materials, there may be slight variation in tone, texture and appearance. Over time, ceramic will patina with age, and may darken and change its appearance with loving use.
History:
Handmade in the city of Tokonome, Aichi prefecture, this teapot is fired in 1 of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan using traditional Japanese pottery methods. Since 1997, Azumaya has designed and collaborated with traditional potters and skilled craftspeople to preserve and further ancient Japanese craft in contemporary culture.
