Kosuga Flower Vases - Adashino and Noshi
Hand-woven in Kyoto, these delicate flower baskets are made from strips of thinly sliced and pressed bamboo, then dyed in Japanese lacquer and varnished to fix its curvy shape. Both bamboo baskets includes a clear glass at the base so that you can stand your flowers up straight, and in water, if desired.
Each piece is made from natural bamboo strips and features unique variations.
Since its establishment in 1890, the Kohchosai Kosuga company has been dedicated to exploring the qualities of bamboo at their workshops and facilities. Kohchosai Kosuga specialized in fine bamboo arts and crafts and produces a wide range of products, such as flower baskets, tableware, bags, and lighting. The craftspeople at Kosuga are true innovators of the medium - shepherding bamboo into contemporary culture that extends well beyond Japan while using traditional techniques passed down through 5 generations.
