Nanbu Tekki Iron Teapots
These Nanbu Tekki cast iron tea pots come in two different styles: Sen (Lines) and Arare (Dots). Each one includes a steel strainer so you can brew your favorite tea, then remove the strainer once you've steeped it to your liking. The inside is coated with enamel (melted glass) to prevent rusting, however you should follow care instructions below to keep in good condition.
There may be slight variation.
"Nambu tekki" is a traditional ironware craft that began in the middle of the 17th century in Northern Japan -- an area rich with iron resources. Nambu tekki has a distinct black color, the result of a Japanese lacquer glaze called "urushi" that is coated onto the iron to prevent rust.
