Description:

Originally designed by Takenobu Igarashi in 1987, the Earth Clock provided a creative twist on the classic rectangular table clock. The rounded shape references the Earth, the grooves on the clock's body represent the oceans, while the clear dome and dial symbolize the land. The blue second hand extends to both sides, adding a fun accent to the design. The sweep second hand means that the mechanism moves in a smooth fluid motion.  Manufactured using a traditional sand-casting technique in Takaoka city, Toyama, the surface shape cannot be repaired once it has been cast, so there is a high-level of skill applied to make each piece, with a skilled craftsmen cutting each sphere on a lathe. Perfect as a table clock for the bedroom or a small studio, and suitable for all styles of interior.
