6 1/2" Milk Pot by Sori Yanagi
Sori Yanagi's classic stainless steel milk pot is the perfect merging of functionality, elegance, and design. His timeless collection of long lasting, user-friendly cooking pots are a must-have tool in the kitchen. They are made from thin, lightweight, high quality stainless steel and ideal for daily use. Yanagi's unique milk pot design ensures you can pour out sauces or liquids without spilling. This piece also works seamlessly with his series of strainers so that the milk pan can be converted into a small steamer. The milk pot's lid, when rotated, creates a small gap for steam to be released from inside to prevent its contents from boiling over.
Pro-tip: Yanagi's stainless steel strainer in the small size will fit with this milk pot.
Sori Yanagi's kitchen product series began with an extensive line of cutlery in 1974, and has since expanded to include pots, pans, kettles, colanders, bowls, knives, utensils and cast iron grills. His design concept nurtures simplicity and the seeking out of small ideas that affect us in big ways.
Often listed amongst legendary masters of industrial design like Charles & Ray Eames and Arnie Jacobsen, Yanagi is considered to be one of Japan's most influential product designers and leader of the industrial post-war design movement in Japan. Credited as the father of Japanese modern design, Yanagi's bent plywood stool, the "BUTTERFLY STOOL", which was designed in 1956, is currently part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NY.
All Sori Yanagi stainless steel pieces are made in Niigata, Japan.
