This craft uses a special woodprint technique invented in Hida-city, Gifu.
First, the fabric is dyed using a wood print from Hida, then it is steamed at a high temperature as a dye-fixing treatment. Then the fabric is stuffed with rice chaff. Finally, it is hand stitched to various animal shapes. Everything is done by hand.
The all natural non-toxic dye and natural stuffing makes this a favorite for little kids and babies. Safe and colorful - a favorite among adults as well.
Spot clean with a small brush with warm soapy water. Air dry.
