Designed by Yuichi Nara for Lemnos and meticulously handcrafted in Japan, the CUCU stands as a modern reinterpretation of the timeless cuckoo clock, infusing any space with the serene melodies of nature. Sporting a white cuckoo bird, it heralds each hour with its call accompanied by the gentle babbling of a brook in the background. Effortlessly adaptable as both a wall-mounted and tabletop timepiece, the CUCU offers a three-level volume control (high/low/off) while incorporating a light sensor that ensures the bird's song remains dormant in darkness.

History:
Since 1947, Lemnos has been dedicated to crafting clocks of all designs. This Japanese brand draws its inspiration from the Greek island of the same name, a place steeped in mythology as the abode of Hephaestus, the patron deity of artisans. Lemnos clocks have garnered accolades, including the prestigious Good Design Award, among other honors.
Designer, Yuichi Nara was born in Tokyo in 1977. In 1999, he graduated from the Construction Department Architecture Course at Yokohama National University, moving to Italy in 2000. Nara began designing following a period of work at a glass studio and an architect’s office in Venice. In 2006, he graduated from Venezia Construction University. During a trip to Noto, Japan, he was impressed with the richness of the nature and lifestyle, he decided to return to Japan and moved to Notojima. In 2007, he established the Noto design office. Studying local materials and learning local techniques and applying them to his work, he attempts to design products that enrich everyday life. Alongside his design activities, he also grows rice in a rented untilled paddy field.
