8.3/4" Shallow Pot by Sori Yanagi
Sori Yanagi's classic stainless steel shallow pot is the perfect merging of functionality, elegance and design. His timeless collection of long lasting, user-friendly cooking pots are a must-have tool in the kitchen, as they are made from thin, lightweight, high quality stainless steel and ideal for daily use. Yanagi's unique shallow pot design allows it to work seamlessly with his series of strainers so that the sauce pot can also be converted into a small steamer.
Pro-tip: Yanagi's stainless steel strainer in the large size will fit with this shallow pot.
Sori Yanagi's kitchen product series began with an extensive line of cutlery in 1974, and has since expanded to include pots, pans, kettles, colanders, bowls, knives, utensils and cast iron grills. His design concept nurtures simplicity and the seeking out of small ideas that affect in big ways.
Often listed amongst legendary masters of industrial design like Charles and Ray Eames and Arnie Jacobsen, Yanagi is considered to be one of Japan's most influential product designers and leader of the Industrial post-war design movement in Japan. Credited as the father of Japanese modern design, Yanagi's bent plywood stool, the "BUTTERFLY STOOL", which was designed in 1956, is currently part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NY.
All Sori Yanagi stainless steel pieces are made in Niigata, Japan.
