Materials:
Ceramic base, stainless steel strainer and a brass handle.
Variation:
Available in black or white. Ceramic is a natural material that will patina over time. This patina may appear as discoloration and darkening from food contact. The brass handle will also patina and discolor over time.
Care Instructions:
The Herb Tea Kettle can be placed on the gas stove to boil water. Do not place on high heat - medium heat only and the flames should not exceed the perimeter of the kettle. Do not place on the flame without water inside. Too little water when boiling will damage the sides and bottoms. Due to the natural material of this kettle, discoloration and changes to the appearance of the kettle is natural and expected, and not a sign of damage. The kettle should brown and darken on the bottom and sides over time. Please know that ceramic does break and crack if there is strong impact, and this kettle is more delicate than other kettles made of metal or iron. The sides of the kettle will be hot when holding hot liquid inside, as well as the handle so using a mitt is recommended. The teapot is sensitive to drastic changes in temperature so do not heat up when very cold, and do not drop ice into teapot when it's still hot. To avoid unpleasant smells, wash and dry thoroughly and keep in a well ventilated area. Hand wash only with non abrasive sponge and mild detergent. The handle is metal and will patina and discolor over time - this is natural and part of the aging process. To avoid too much discoloration of the handle, avoid getting wet or dry immediately.
