The Bunaco Company was founded in 1956 on the northern tip of the main island of Japan (Honshu). This area is abundant with beech trees, and Bunaco craftsmen and women have developed eco friendly and flexible products by using this locally grown wood for unique and unexpectedly shaped vessels. Their method of production involves slicing beechwood in 1mm thick slices to make a 1cm-wide ribbon-like strip. This is wound around a solid round base to form a coil of timber, which provides a base for making a great variety of shapes.

Not meant for dishwasher or microwave. We recommend caring for the bowl by avoiding contact with very hot items, flame sources, or direct sunlight. Bunaco bowls should only be hand washed with a non-abrasive sponge and gentle detergent, and dried right away with a soft cloth. Avoid dropping or strong impact or the surface may chip or get scratched.

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee. Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
